Text Box: Kevin Mahar and Seth Bynum each share similar stories, yet their path to their ultimate goal is quite different. They both found their way to Indiana University and the baseball team. Seth grew up in Louisville, KY. Where he played Babe Ruth Baseball through the age of 18 at Beechmont, and he and his team played in the World Series twice in five years.  His high school team, Butler, was ranked #1 in state for two years.  After graduating, he received a scholarship to Lincoln Trail Junior College for two years, receiving Player of the Year in the region and leading the team in batting average, stolen bases, and hits.  With two years of college under his belt, he then went to IU.  After his senior year, he was honored as District Player of the Year, All Big-Ten First Team, and Mid-Season Baseball America Second Team All American.
Kevin Mahar, originally from Midland, MI went to IU as a punter for the football team, he was also a quarterback candidate. He decided to transfer to Lincoln Trail Junior College to further pursue his baseball career, oddly enough the following year he was back at IU where he would finish his college career.

Text Box: Unlike most college careers that end after your senior year, Kevin and Seth’s story continues. Each are now playing for MLB organizations. Kevin, for the Texas Rangers, Seth, for the Washington Nationals. Each hope to find a permanent spot on an MLB roster in the near future.
Seth has played for the Savannah Sand Gnats and Harrisburg Senators. Kevin has played for the Frisco Roughriders, Oklahoma Redhawks and was called up last season to the Texas Rangers. Yes, he got a taste and it made him all the more hungry.
They each play more than 140 games per season for their respective teams, that doesn’t include travel, spring training & regular season practice, but the moment the season is over, Kevin and Seth share another similarity. They begin training for next season, they trained at P.A.S.S. for their off-season last year, and this winter they are back again training with us. To realize their dream, they know that they must make a difference in their game during the off-season.
You will hear it time and time again, but competition is fierce. For Kevin and Seth, not only are they competing against their opponents, they are also competing against their teammates for roster spots, playing time and ’the call’. That is, the call to the big leagues. To make it to Kevin and Seth’s level, you have to be good—no question, and what separates players at that level is usually very small. Which is why they are training at P.A.S.S.
Each are working out 4-5 days per week, gaining strength, working on speed, increasing power and
